Night Out For A Worthy Cause
The Forum Courier of South QueensFebruary 25th - March 2nd, 2004 - page 4
Where can you combine unlimited tasting of the finest wines with music and atmosphere for a low cost? At The Liquor Cabinet on March 4th, 2004, of course! From 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. S.T.A.R.S. youth organization will be hosting its first Wine Tasting fundraiser.
This vibrant group of volunteers spends their time giving back to the youth of the community in the form of various educational, recreational and self-development programs. Now this group is trying to raise funds to continue their mission.
Throughout the past 8 years S.T.A.R.S. has not only helped countless young people, they have also initiated and participated in an abundance of neighborhood improvement projects, such as many graffiti cleanups, and the building of the Hamilton Beach Playground.
"It's a great way to spend the evening and an opportunity to meet people, while donating to a worthy cause," says Elvira Barisano, S.T.A.R.S. Board Member. The group is looking forward to another successful event and hopes to bring in much needed revenue. An additional treat, cheese from C&F Food Company, Inc. and other finger food will also be available for tasting. If you are going to go to one charitable event this year - make it this one! Tickets are only $10.00!
