HAMILTON BEACH GETS A PLAYGROUND

NEW PLAYGROUND IS ON THE WAY

Thanks to the efforts of Frances Scarantino and S.TA.R.S., the Hamilton Beach section of Charles Park will be getting a playground! The project is the result of a competition sponsored by Kaboom! The grant for the playground is due solely to the efforts of S.T.A.R.S. who worked in conjunction with Gateway National Recreation Service to secure the playground for the neighborhood.

The playground equipment will most likely be selected by the end of this month. Following that, plans will be made to schedule a day in which the actual construction will occur.

The playground will be assembled with the help of community volunteers under the supervision of representatives from Kaboom!

Amazingly, according to teams who have constructed prior playgrounds such as this, the actual building of the playground is the quickest part of the process, taking only one day to complete. Many thanks and congratulations to S.T.A.R.S. They've done it again!
