S.T.A.R.S. Are Movin' On Up

The elves at S.T.A.R.S. have been busy all month bringing holiday cheer throughout the neighborhood. They have been singing to senior citizens and visitors to North Fork Bank, had a holiday decorating party, made holiday crafts and just recently facepainting at the N. Y. F. A. C. holiday party. They did all this while expanding the youth center to the second floor at 8 Coleman Square, in Howard Beach. On Friday, December 20th during the S.T.A.R.S. holiday party the second floor held its grand opening, where the Arts & Crafts Room, Reading Room and S.T.A.R.S. Store made its debut. Of course, Santa dropped by to give out gifts and prizes to the many children present that evening. Earlier this month, Santa thanked S.T.A.R.S. by giving them a $500.00 contribution in the name of North Fork Bank, for all the hard work they had done with the community youth throughout the year.
