Striving To Achieve and Reach Success (S.T.A.R.S.) Youth Center has announced that actor Jack Cleary is the newest volunteer to join its roster. Cleary will share his talent with the young people at S.T.A.R.S. by conducting a Drama/Acting Workshop every Friday from 4 to 5:00 p.m. at the Youth Center, located in Coleman Square, directly across from the Howard Beach train station.
Cleary is an experienced actor who has appeared in two feature films: playing the lead in feature film 'The Basement', and supporting role in feature film 'Paradise Falls', in addition to several short films and a number of Off Broadway plays. His training includes, but is not limited to, HB Studios and the New York Film Academy.
"All of the volunteers are precious to us at S.T.A.R.S." Frances O. Scarantino, president and founder of S.T.A.R.S. said, "however, Having Jack at S.T.A.R.S. is extra-special. He brings a new energy and a professional touch to the drama program."
The workshop begins today Friday, September 24, 2004 and will run for ten weeks. Children ages six to 12 can participate and learn acting techniques and staging direction.
